POPGO

Company

Make the leap feel light. Treat failure as forward motion.

About us

Let's go pop.

POPGO exists to build a world where the moment you think "I'd like to try that", you can actually take the step. We want to strip the psychological and structural barriers around trying things down as far as they will go, until failing stops being remarkable. Action over outcome. Trial and error over being right. Allowing each other to fail, learning from it, and moving on. That accumulation is what makes people feel alive, and makes life lighter, simpler and more enjoyable. "Let's go pop" is the phrase we work by.

Mission

A world where "you haven't failed yet?" is an ordinary thing to hear

MISSION / why we exist

Lower the barrier to taking on a challenge as far as it will go, and increase the number of people who fail

VISION / the future we want

A society where anyone can take on what they want to try, where failure is allowed, and where people feel alive

  • Being happy is not the same as having succeeded

It is the person on their way toward something they want. Being absorbed in something is what makes people feel most alive.

  • Criticism is the flip side of not having moved

Much of the criticism people throw around online seems to come from not having stepped forward themselves, and envying those who have.

  • You do not have to leap far

Try it, and it is fine to fail. But the first step is frightening. Small is fine. Lowering that barrier as far as it will go is what we are here for.

How he got here

  1. 01

    As a student

Building businesses from the student years

Ran a festival drawing twenty thousand people. Launched several ventures including a consumer service with ten thousand members, while interning at a number of companies.

  2. 02

    In employment

Number two at a fast-growing startup

Headed marketing at an education startup while effectively acting as COO, covering management, finance, fundraising and hiring.

  3. 03

    Independent

Choosing to take the risk himself

Rather than settling into a comfortable position, he chose to take his own shot. Today he runs the marketing practice while building POPGO's own ventures.

This is where POPGO comes from. Let go and try, and it turns out you can.

The thinking behind the logo

Both the name and the vision are in this mark

Our logo was created by Shinichi Hara, a contemporary artist who has worked on logo design and branding for a great many artists and companies, including Ayumi Hamasaki. What the company name means to us, and where we want to go, are both carried in this mark.
