POPGO Inc. (hereinafter "we" or "the Company") handles the personal information obtained through the website we operate and through our business activities in accordance with Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws and regulations, as set out below.

We never collect personal information against your will. Fields in the enquiry form that are not marked as required are optional.

3. How we use personal information

We use the personal information we collect within the scope of the following purposes.

6. Analytics tools

To understand and improve how this site is used, we use Google Analytics, an analytics service provided by Google LLC, and Google Tag Manager to manage tags. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information about visitors, but does not collect information that identifies you personally, such as your name or address. The information collected is managed under Google LLC's privacy policy. Access logs recorded by our hosting provider are used to keep the site running reliably and to prevent unauthorised access.

You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on provided by Google.

7. Advertising

We and the advertising providers we work with may use cookies and advertising identifiers to display advertising matched to your interests. These are based on your browsing history across this and other websites, and do not include information that identifies you personally, such as your name or address.

You can stop interest-based advertising through the settings each provider offers (such as Google's Ad Settings), or through the settings on your device or browser.

8. Disclosure to third parties

We do not provide personal information to third parties without your prior consent, except in the following cases.

  • Where required by law
  • Where necessary to protect a person's life, body or property, and obtaining your consent is difficult
  • Where particularly necessary to improve public health or promote the sound growth of children, and obtaining your consent is difficult
  • Where it is necessary to cooperate with a national or local government body, or a party commissioned by one, in carrying out duties prescribed by law, and obtaining your consent may impede those duties

9. Outsourcing

We may outsource all or part of the handling of personal information to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes above. The main external services we currently use to operate this site are as follows.

  • Google LLC (Google Workspace, Google Sheets): storing enquiries and sending notification emails
  • Vercel Inc.: hosting this site and recording access logs
  • Slack Technologies, LLC: internal notifications when an enquiry is received

We select providers that handle personal information appropriately, and exercise the necessary and appropriate oversight of them.

10. Provision of personal data to third parties overseas

The providers listed in sections 5 and 9 include companies headquartered in the United States and other countries outside Japan. Before entrusting the handling of personal data to them, we review the personal information protection regime in the country where each provider is located and the protective measures that provider has in place. For details of how each service handles personal information, please refer to the privacy policy that provider publishes.

11. Disclosure, correction and suspension of use

On request from you or your representative, we will notify you of the purpose of use of the personal data we hold about you, disclose it, correct, add to or delete its contents, suspend its use, erase it, or stop providing it to third parties. We will verify your identity and respond within a reasonable period. There is no charge for this.

12. Retention and disposal

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes of use, and for any period required by law. After an enquiry has been dealt with, we retain its contents for three years as a rule, so that we can improve how we handle similar enquiries and respond to any follow-up. Personal information that no longer needs to be retained is erased or disposed of securely without undue delay.

13. Security measures

We take the following measures to prevent unauthorised access to, and the loss, destruction, alteration or leakage of, personal information.

  • Limiting who handles personal information and managing their access rights
  • Requiring authentication to access systems that store personal information
  • Encrypting communication channels
  • Exercising necessary and appropriate oversight of the providers we work with

In the unlikely event of a leak or similar incident, we will promptly make the required reports and notify the individuals concerned in accordance with applicable law.
